Weird? Maybe, but I'm okay with that.  Taking a week off of straight documentary stuff to explore a feeling I was having.

Clips from my recent trip to New York City. I would be remise if I didn't mention Jay Dedman (www.momentshowing.net) and Ryanne Hodson (http://ryanedit.blogspot.com/) because looking at their work was definitely an inspiration for a clip like this. The music is from http://www.podsafeaudio.com/. It is "Movement One" by Ocean Alexander.

It's Killing Me

By nature I make documentary type stuff. I don't feel comfortable letting my feelings show or dealing with personal matters in public arenas. This is definitely one of the most personal videos I've ever posted. I'd been toying with narrative work recently and when this idea was born was rather upset about my work in general and just me as a person. Luckily, I have great people in my life that encourage me to create even when I don't think I can and push me to do my best for me and not for what others. I hope whoever sees this enjoys it but I didn't make it for you. I made it for me. It was a struggle to even be willing to post it. I owe many thanks to David Stith for graciously letting me use his music. You can check his work out at www.dmstith.com. I also owe many thanks to Dave Huth who always offers encouragement on my crazy ideas and provides me inspiration through his work. You can check his work out at www.davidhuth.com. They draw the best out of you and their inspiration often gives you the courage to fight on." -Ron Lindeboom

Performance

Friends-
Some Houghton students and I participated in a contest promoted by Apple in which we had 24 hours to write, cast, shoot and edit a 3 minute short film. The top 25 films are screened before judges including Barry Sonnenfeld, James Mangold and Nora Ephron. However, in order to get into the top 25 we need you! The public votes in order to decide which films are good enough to get into the top 25.

We would really appreciate your vote.

To vote all you have to do is go here

There it will prompt you to login and give you further instructions if you don't have an apple ID. Apple makes it really easy to create an apple ID if you don't have one so please don't let that deter you from voting.

If you would like to know more about the process of participating I'm happy to answer any questions and there is a short press release on Houghton's website as well that you can find here

Thanks!
Kerry

Well if you looked at my house and had to pick out who you thought would be the ones cooking...I guarantee you would not choose me and Kate. However, we have found that we actually do the majority of the cooking despite our adventures exteriors we are little Susie homemakers on the inside.

Sometimes I get really bored at Houghton waiting to do things. This is an example of what I do when I am bored and feeling motivated. Notice the "pleasentville" effect.

Sometimes when I stay up late and night scary things happen. I had to wait for something to post so I could send a client the link. I didn't feel like watching a movie so I took some footage shot earlier today, or well yesterday now, and cut it together. Glad we can all have fun with each other.

What I'm doing this summer.

Click to Play

Well a lot of people have asked me what I'm doing this summer. Truth is I'm doing a lot of things and a lot of it is hard to explain, but this is going to be a major part of it. Today Dave, Charlotte and me went out into the woods to do some tests shots before the actors get here. Its was a good time and definitely helpful. Not sure if I'll keep posting from daily/weekly shoots but maybe.

Full Frame

In April myself and two other students were given the opportunity to go to the full frame documentary film festival in Durham, North Carolina. It was great to go there and learn as well as see our professors video shown on the big screen. We got to do a lot of cool things and it was a lot of fun. We did have some major technical difficulties as far as shooting footage....aka I forgot the camera one day and tapes the next so this is random snippets from when we did have the camera. Not going to an academy award with the editing either. 9

This is my final project for Daves class. Its an idea he really let me run with and I will continue to work on this project over the summer because its going to be my festival piece. I would love to here anyones thoughts. They will help me as I continue to edit and think about the ideas I want to communicate.

Well--I've been really interested in faith traditions latley and where our beliefs come from. I have the freedom in one of my classes to basically do anything so I am doing a large scale video documantryish type thing on belief. I set up the lights tonight and one of my friends was in the lab. He was kind enough to let me interview him. The audio sucks--I know. It was a on-boad camera mic. This wasn't meant to be a finished product just a lighting and angle test really. Let me know what you think.
