Antarctica

I've been mysteriously absent from posting mainly because I spent the last month helping with a production in Antarctica. There is more coming but I have to finish up my missed school work first. In the meantime here is a video that I made summarizing the trip for credit.

Evangelicals

Happiness

Man is fond of counting his troubles, but he does not count his joys. If he counted them up as he ought to, he would see that every lot has enough happiness provided for it. ~Fyodor Dostoevsky Special thanks to everyone who agreed to let me interview them.

dV Start/Stop Detect in Final Cut Pro

A time consuming and often tedious part of the video editing process is logging and capturing individual editable clips in Final Cut Pro. Capturing the entire tape as one clip is easy, but that makes cutting the captured footage into smaller clips useful in editing difficult. But not if you use Final Cut Pro's Start/Stop Detect feature.

Mothers Day

Mothers Day 2008. All my mom wanted to do was go to a park and walk around. I thought it would be fun to bring my camera.

Hands Do.

The future is scary. What will my hands do?

Definitely taking a page out of Dave Huth's book for this one. (www.davidhuth.com) What can I say he's a great teacher and friend.

Light-Response

Sort of in response to CD's challenge in week five to produce some light art (http://blip.tv/file/632641) and Michael Aivaliotis post (http://michael.aivaliotis.com/2008/01/26/light-painting-experiment-with-the-kids/#respond). Still trying to figure out some in camera ways to animate light without using stop motion. Experimenting is always fun tho.

Experiment

I am the teaching assistant for a digital video class.  This week my task was to give a demonstration on logging and capturing in Final Cut.  One cool thing Final Cut will do is allow you to recapture an clips that you may have deleted while still saving all the edits in the timeline. I couldn't resist trashing all of my footage and having it randomly reconnect in the timeline. Strange.........
